The Gift of You

The Gift of YouIf you are completely new to learning how to improve upon yourself, so that you can begin living your life with a more positive attitude, then you want to continue reading. Listed below are some tips to get you started with making more positives changes to your life.

A great tip for personal development is to always make sure you stand up for your beliefs. If you do not have the guts to stand up for what you believe in, then you will be seen as a weak fool. Do careful research to ensure that your claims are the truth, and the truth can not be denied.

Replace negative thoughts with ones that are more positive or balanced. Keep a journal of negative thoughts and what triggers them. When you are in a better mood, go over your journal and see if the negative thoughts you had were necessary and how you can change the way you viewed them at the time.

To keep yourself motivated have a friendly competition with a friend or colleague.
This applies to everything from weight loss to quarterly goals. Most people simply work harder when in competition with others. The other person can also help you stay on track and avoid lazy days. For extra motivation compete for a prize.

Life Is A Gift

Try visualizing your way to success. One of the quickest ways to reach your goals is by closing your eyes and imagining that you already have. Visualizing your future success in vivid detail can help you to start feeling more successful right now. As a result, your behaviors and actions will change, reflecting a new found confidence in your abilities. This confidence, coupled with a clear vision of what you want to achieve, will help you reach your goals with ease.

Some level of contentment is crucial to mental health and self-improvement. While self-help tactics and tips focus on constant striving, there is a bigger picture to consider. You will never achieve holistic health and mental happiness without allowing yourself a bit of enjoyment. Learn to be content with things you cannot change (your family, last year’s earnings, etc.). Once you are satisfied with the permanent things in your life, you are ready to change the things you can control.

Put a stop to those unwanted imaginary opinions that you think people have about you. Many of the terrible things you think people are thinking about you are not really occurring. If you can put a stop to what is basically self-criticizing, you are sure to gain the confidence you want.

Learning a new skill is a great way to stretch yourself and improve the quality of your character. What’s more, perfecting a hobby, technical skill or artistic form may be challenging at first, but if you master it, you will gain a sense of accomplishment, purpose and enjoyment. What’s more, you add to your pool of leisure activities and make yourself a more rounded human being.

As you can now see, living a longer, higher-quality and healthier life with many accomplishments is possible through self-help. Use one, or use them all to find that sense of peace that has long evaded you on the path to personal development.

A Road Block Called Life….

A Road Block Called life... Hi Everyone! I know that it’s been awhile since I have blogged. 2012 has been a challenging year to say the least. In the last 6 months there have been people around me that have gotten very ill or have passed away. All ages, backgrounds, etc. It’s been a tough pill to swallow lately. Most of my emotions have come from a place of bewilderment and not grief. Everyday most of us wake up not realizing that we are given a gift every day at that very moment…LIFE.

Recently I started a cleansing detox, and it wasn’t just beneficial for my body but it was also beneficial for my mind. I witnessed first hand how when “stuff” get s accumulated within our bodies it can cause harm from the inside out. We also can apply this to the “stuff” that get’s accumulated in our brains. Every now and again we need a mental DETOX. We need to purge all of the negative, self-sabotaging, limiting beliefs that we have ans start FRESH!

All of the grief and confusion about life lately has been a catalyst for me to cry, sob, scream, weep, laugh, and many other expressions of emotions. It sounds dramatic and it has been, but it has been therapeutic as well. I have been able to LET GO of all of my physical, mental, and emotional JUNK. I have a new found appreciation for life and I look forward to truly enjoying this thing called life and all that it has to offer.

Till We Meet Again (Tomorrow I promise 🙂 )

My Essence of Vitality Challenge Day 5 & 6

Okay guys! I am learning so many things about my body in just a short period of time. For instance, I do believe that I have a gluten and dairy allergy. I had a hunch for years but this cleanse has proven my suspicions right. I am no longer bloated or have that “full” feeling anymore. And I am only 6 days in!!!! This is so exciting! However, I am a sucker for pasta and sweet things, but I am starting to researching recipes without traditional flour. I am discovering things such as almond and coconut flour. I can’t wait until the cleanse is over to experiment with transforming my original yummy recipes into yummy healthy recipes!! I am so thankful for Chef Ahki and discovering her tonic. I am looking forward to the end result!!!!

My Essence of Vitality Challenge-Day 3 & 4

This truly is an experience. First without being completely explicit, I experiencing my monthly visit from my “Aunt Flow” simultaneously as I am doing this detox. Normally I experience severe cramping but I haven’t felt any yet…hmmm. I will have to ask Chef Ahki if this is common. My mental clarity has heightened and I feel less cluttered. I have NO APPETITE what so ever, which is not like me at all. I am also starting to break out on my face slightly. I am assuming this is a detoxing side effect. I am no longer afraid of drinking the tonic lol. Don’t get me wrong, it is still very bitter, but I don’t have to pray before I drink it any more..lol. Because of my lack of appetite, I have to force myself to eat. I have had apples, bananas, and oatmeal for the entire weekend. I feel like I am in preschool. I will be experimenting with cauliflower “rice” for dinner tonight. I will also be measuring myself tonight. My waist measurement was 36 inches right before the detox, I can’t wait to see if any progress has been made yet!

It’s funny because I just realized that Thanksgiving is this week!!! i am already preparing myself for all of the questions that i am going to get. The obvious one being, “Girl, why would you chose now to do a detox?”…lol.  To which I will reply, “Why not?”. The way I see it, there is always a reason for people to celebrate with food. If it’s not Thanksgiving, it’s going to be Christmas, then New Year’s, then Valentine’s Day, etc, etc, etc.

I will continue to keep you updated throughout my journey!

My Essence of Vitality Challenge-Day 2

Hey Guys!!

*Singing* “Oh now I, I will survive!”…

I got through the first night. I even went to a training seminar for my business, and I was okay! It is interesting because I have no appetite what so ever…hmmm. I am not quite sure what that is all about, but it is intriguing to say the least. I am already conscious of the fact that this is going to be a gradual process, hence the 21 Days. So if you are expecting some sort of detox fast program, this is not it. You must be dedicated to the process. Just so you all know, I love cookies, cake, and almost anything sweet and yummy. But for whatever reason I am not even thinking about those things or craving them! I am excited for what is already happened but I am super excited by what is to come!

Last Night’s Dinner: A Bowl of Cabbage (Onion, garlic, and olive oil)

My Food for Today: I had Eggplant, Cabbage, Snow Peas and brown rice, chai tea with almond milk

I will keep you updated throughout my journey!

Day 1 of My Essence of Vitality Challenge

My bottle of Essence of Vitality finally arrived in the mail yesterday! I ordered it last week and between the postal holiday on Monday and my impatience, I was freaking out!!! I was so ready to just dive right it and get this detox started. Well, I should have took the time to mentally prepare myself for what I was about to embark upon. Before I go into my personal experience, I just want to say that this or any other intense detox takes mentally preparation. This is not for the faint at heart.

So the package came and I ripped open the box super fast!!!! I couldn’t wait! I was moving so fast that I couldn’t even open the darn thing. I finally got the bottle opened. I quickly read the instructions and searched for a measuring cup. I must admit I watched a few video reviews and I wanted to be prepared. Well there is no preparation in the world that could have prepared me for what I was going to witness. I do not believe in scare tactics but I will tell you that this tonic is extremely bitter. I want to let you know this, so that you don’t get discouraged and discontinue the detox. Herbal bitter is different that sour bitter, so if you think this will be a citrus experience , you are sadly mistaken.

The Aftermath: My energy soared through the roof. I have been ignoring the fact that I have this Ebook deadline for months! My boyfriend asked me how long will it take to complete. I told him 3-4 UNINTERRUPTED hours. Normally I would sit my laptop on my lap and attempt to write. An hour later, I am awakened and told to go to sleep. That did not happen last night, I FINISHED IT!!! If this is a window of what’ to come then I will just deal with the extreme bitterness. I have been to the bathroom several times and I love it!!!

My Food for Today: I had a fresh Asian Vegetable Soup (no rice, no noodles), A Fresh strawberry, pineapple, mango smoothie, water, and herbal tea.

I will keep you updated throughout my journey!

Keep Stress Out Of Your Life With These Tips

If you’ve been feeling stressed lately, you’re not the only one. Every person you see has had to battle with stress. Having techniques in place to combat stress works, and if you can find methods that work right for you, then you need to use them. Here are some great options for fighting stress.

Try to plan your week at work or school in advance, so that you do not put pressure on yourself to do everything in one day. Procrastination is one of the worst things that you can do when trying to limit stress, as you should attempt to create equilibrium as often as possible.

Take a time-out and have a mini massage. Try rubbing the palm of your right hand with the thumb of your left. Make slow, circular motions, or use a device. Focus on the rhythmic movement and feel of the massage. Check for tight spots in your neck, and massage out any knots.

Make it a habit to rate whatever is stressing you on a scale from one to ten. One being a very small issue while ten being a major stress breakdown. Often, you will find the stresses you have at hand will fall in the lower end of the spectrum. This is a great way to put your stressful situations into perspective.

Think about the relative benefits verses problems associated with being a perfectionist. When we hold ourselves to too high of standards stress can be the result. Is it really necessary that the refrigerator be wiped out every day or would every other day suffice? Does ever paper at work have to go through three editors or is one perfectly substantial?

Be wary of prescription drugs. While various prescription drugs like Valium, Xanax, and Ativan are often prescribed to treat the symptoms of anxiety, these drugs might actually have a counterproductive effect on our reaction to stress. Just as is the case with common drugs like alcohol and tobacco, prescription drugs can actually make us more sensitive to stressful events.

In order to keep your stress level under control, it would be wise to find something that you love doing. This will to keep your mind off of whatever may bring stress in your life. A little time out, if you will? This is important because many people need an activity that will help to give them an outlet, for their frustrations.

Use these methods as much as you can. Meeting stress head-on can be the most effective way to make sure that it doesn’t have a dramatic effect on you, and you can return to the rest of your life. Follow these tips and prepare for stress, and it won’t be as big a deal as it once was.

Your Health is Your Wealth

In the past couple of months, I have witnessed health related issues being the cause of untimely deaths. I myself have suffered with digestive issues my entire life.   I have been procrastinating eating better and living a healthier life. It has now slapped me in the face that tomorrow is not promised. If we think about it, our bodies are vehicles that we use to get through life. However, some of us take more care of our cars then we do our own bodies. Every 3,000 miles we HAVE to give our car an oil change or it just won’t run efficiently. How many of us give our bodies a reboot after every three months? If you are like me, the answer is no.

Let’s Start Today!

I have been researching body detoxing and I came across a product that I am actually excited about trying.

It is called the Essence of Vitality and it was produced by an amazing woman by the name of Chef Ahki.

I am a bit of a skeptic when it comes to certain products because I have literally tried everything! Potions, pills, wraps, etc., but none of those methods provided the results that are necessary for my long term health. I am not looking for a get “empty” fast type of remedy. I truly want to change my lifestyle, diet, and my internal health. This is why I was immediately drawn to her website because she is an advocate for life style transformation. I am ordering her product as we speak and I can’t wait to partake in this Total Body Renewal!!! Go to her website www.ChefAhki.com and let’s renew together!!!

The Benefits of a Natural Body Detox

I am honestly considering a natural body detox. I feel HORRIBLE!!! Seriously, I really do. I am sluggish, all of my energy comes from coffee and Vivran…lol. Which is okay for the moment, but over a long period of time, those things can do more damage than good. So what is a blogger to do? I am a parent, entrepreneur, writer, daughter, and the list goes on and on. I cannot continue feeling this way. I began researching detoxification of the body and I think I found the solution to my problems. Researcher say that you are supposed to have a full body detox at least twice a year! Well that means I am about 31 years behind, because I have never had one.

Natural Body Detox Benefits

  • Weight Loss- In most cases, people have so much accumulated waste in our bodies that it adds to extra ponds. Especially in the mid-section.
  • Increased Energy-Once all of the toxins and accumulated waste is expelled from our body, we can process vitamins and minerals more efficiently and by default have more energy.
  • Renewed Skin: Our skin is the largest elimination organ in our body. A natural body detox pushes all of the toxins out of our body and sometimes through our skin. Over time our skin will begin to renew itself and begin to glow!!!
  • Mental Clarity: If toxins can affect your skin, energy levels, and other things, they can definitely affect your brain. After detoxification, people tend to have a heighten sense of awareness and the mental “fog” is lifted.

These are just a few benefits of participating in a natural body detox. Next week I will share with you the detox program that I will be participating in. I can’t wait!!!! I am so eager and excited! I hope this information helps those who are thinking about doing a natural body detox.

Order, Order, Order!!!
