The Gift of You

The Gift of YouIf you are completely new to learning how to improve upon yourself, so that you can begin living your life with a more positive attitude, then you want to continue reading. Listed below are some tips to get you started with making more positives changes to your life.

A great tip for personal development is to always make sure you stand up for your beliefs. If you do not have the guts to stand up for what you believe in, then you will be seen as a weak fool. Do careful research to ensure that your claims are the truth, and the truth can not be denied.

Replace negative thoughts with ones that are more positive or balanced. Keep a journal of negative thoughts and what triggers them. When you are in a better mood, go over your journal and see if the negative thoughts you had were necessary and how you can change the way you viewed them at the time.

To keep yourself motivated have a friendly competition with a friend or colleague.
This applies to everything from weight loss to quarterly goals. Most people simply work harder when in competition with others. The other person can also help you stay on track and avoid lazy days. For extra motivation compete for a prize.

Life Is A Gift

Try visualizing your way to success. One of the quickest ways to reach your goals is by closing your eyes and imagining that you already have. Visualizing your future success in vivid detail can help you to start feeling more successful right now. As a result, your behaviors and actions will change, reflecting a new found confidence in your abilities. This confidence, coupled with a clear vision of what you want to achieve, will help you reach your goals with ease.

Some level of contentment is crucial to mental health and self-improvement. While self-help tactics and tips focus on constant striving, there is a bigger picture to consider. You will never achieve holistic health and mental happiness without allowing yourself a bit of enjoyment. Learn to be content with things you cannot change (your family, last year’s earnings, etc.). Once you are satisfied with the permanent things in your life, you are ready to change the things you can control.

Put a stop to those unwanted imaginary opinions that you think people have about you. Many of the terrible things you think people are thinking about you are not really occurring. If you can put a stop to what is basically self-criticizing, you are sure to gain the confidence you want.

Learning a new skill is a great way to stretch yourself and improve the quality of your character. What’s more, perfecting a hobby, technical skill or artistic form may be challenging at first, but if you master it, you will gain a sense of accomplishment, purpose and enjoyment. What’s more, you add to your pool of leisure activities and make yourself a more rounded human being.

As you can now see, living a longer, higher-quality and healthier life with many accomplishments is possible through self-help. Use one, or use them all to find that sense of peace that has long evaded you on the path to personal development.

Great Guide On How To Fight Depression

One of the most debilitating things to affect humans is depression. Depression bring affected individuals into a melancholy space where they may lose sight of goals in life and lose any hope for their future. If you need help battling depression, then pay attention to the advice in my blog post.

Prior to becoming pregnant, I thought that depression was a figment of people’s imagination. I thought they people who said they had depression were selfish and were intention seekers. It wasn’t until after I had my son and started experiencing depression that I realized how real it was. It took over a year and a half for me to “snap out of it”. Below are some suggestions that helped me “find myself” all over again.

Becoming interested in a hobby is a great way to help you deal with your depression. Many people say that gardening is one of the best things to do but it can be whatever interests you. Just the act of having a hobby can often take your mind off of what is ailing you.

Create an artistic outlet for yourself. You can do this by painting, acting in a play or getting involved in crafts. This can help you communicate your emotions and let them out. When you use energy for activities like this you will relieve stress which can definitely help out with depression. I actually started this blog :).

When dealing with depression, don’t try to do it all on your own. Instead, open up to trusted friends and family members to let them know what you are going through. Having a solid support system in place can make all the difference when you are trying to cope with with this difficult condition.

Understand your mind. Depression is not a sign of insanity, rather it means something is not right. Depression is just a sign that something in your life is unbalanced. It could be something in yourself, your environment, or may include both. Knowing you are not crazy can really help you feel more positive about your life.

A great tip that can help you get out of your depression is to sing a song that you enjoy. Singing a song will instantly put you in a better mood. Singing a little bit each day can help you get out of your depression in no time.

If you are apt to get depressed, write in a journal daily. Daily journal writing helps you monitor your mood so you can stop depression in its tracks. Reviewing your journal helps you find the pattern to your moods so you can take steps to avoid an oncoming depressive episode.

Post Partum Depression

Know the symptoms of post-partum depression, and make sure that your partner does, too. While some “baby blues” are normal after giving birth, post-partum depression is a serious, yet common illness that can benefit greatly from professional help. Your partner can help you watch for signs that you need some help, as you may not be able to see the situation clearly yourself.

As stated before in the introduction, depression has a debilitating effect on humans. Depression makes individuals melancholy while removing any hopes and goals they have for life. If you remember the advice found in this post, you can battle depression and remove your own “I got the blues” state and return to being a more happier you.

Make Positive Changes In Your Life With These Great Tips

Working on yourself can be one of the great challenges of your life. Knowing that you have things to change, and admitting it, can be the start to a wonderful journey of self-discovery that can last a lifetime. Here are a few self help tips to get you started on that journey

Time Management

Time management is essential to processing, so be sure to set aside time every day to evaluate your overall performance. It may be difficult to revisit shortcomings so quickly after they have passed, but revisiting failures immediately afterward can help you identify where you went wrong and amend this behavior in the future.

Be timely. This is a skill that may not come easy to everyone, but is essential to your personal development. In today’s world time is money and if you are late for appointments, you are not only wasting everyone’s time but also their money. Time management is highly valued in almost all aspects of society.

Inside every big job are tons of little jobs. Subdivide your personal development tasks to make them easier to tackle. This task subdivision is almost infinitely reproducible, too. If one part of a bigger job is still ominously large, subdivide it again. Good task division is good time management. You can accomplish huge goals if you nibble away at them consistently.

One important component of personal development is learning how to effectively manage your time. Strong time management skills can help you reach your goals more quickly so you can get more of what you want out of life. Not only that, but managing your time wisely can reduce your overall stress levels by making life far less hectic and rushed.

Self-help tips can never be complete; there is so much to think about. But knowing that you’re on the right road can be an enormous comfort. Be gentle but honest with yourself, and you’ll start to expand your knowledge of the one person you spend the most time with: yourself.

Manage Your Time, Manage Your Life

How many times have you looked at the clock and say, “where did the time go”? This happens to all of us!  In this blog post I just want to show you the importance of how if you manage your time, you manage your life.

Manage your time…manage your life

Motivation: You have to be motivated to manage your time. It takes effort and determination to want to change the way that you think about time. Motivation is key!

Prioritize: Often times we are so busy doing things that are not a priority and that have nothing to do with our goals. This “busy-ness” gives the illusion that we are being productive. Whether you are a parent, entrepreneur, and/or corporate executive, you should always prioritize the tasks that are most important. By doing this you will find that you are maximizing your time and getting more important things done.

Schedule: Plan EVERYTHING. There are plenty of apps, widgets, and functions that will help us create and adhere to a schedule. Schedule a time for everything-even leisurely things such as reading, eating, and/or meditating. By doing this you will eliminate all of those “lost hours” that you could have used doing something more productive.

Focus: Concentrate on completing your tasks. If that means that you have to go into a quiet room, the library, computer lab, etc., than do it!!! You will be amazed at what you can do in an hour if you just focus and concentrate.

Set Goals: This is so important!!! You have to set goals in order to make an effective schedule. Your goals will give you the structure for your schedule. Once you clearly define what your goals are, you can then outline what it is that you need to do during the day, week, month, year, in order to achieve them.

As you can see all of these things work together! Motivation–>Set Goals–>Prioritize–>Schedule–>Focus! If you do these things every day, you will be amazed at the results! Time management is the key to ultimate success!

The Happy Family

“We never see each other!” “She is always on the computer!” “He is always texting!” “We are ships passing in the night.”

If these are some of the things that you have been saying lately chances are you are not typically a happy family. Now that’s not to say that you don’t love each other. But “just getting” by or “getting along” isn’t enough to be happy.

While reading WebMD, I found an article outlining 15 Secrets to Have a Happy Family. I will not do a full review of the article but I am going to share some of the “secrets” that I thought would be helpful.

You are family!

  • Enjoy One Another: You are family! You should be happy to see your children or your spouse or your siblings. Appreciate the fact that you have a family. There are some people who have only themselves.
  • Stop Being Busy: If your calendar is loaded with yoga classes, hair appointments, women’s meetings, golf outings, karate class, ballet class, etc., that’s too much. Limit your after school and after work activities to one per day. Schedule your “me time” when the kids are in class or your spouse is at work. Start collaborating and sharing activities such as exercising and do them together.
  • Communicate: Everyone in the family should feel comfortable to talk freely amongst each other. If a child has a concern or anxiety, they should be able to talk to their family FIRST without any hesitation.

Making the Jump from Employee to Online Entrepreneur

Once you’ve made the decision to become your own boss, taking the next step from employee to online entrepreneur can be pretty intimidating.

As an employee you had a predictable, stable work schedule. You knew what to expect and had the support of other employees to accomplish daily tasks, but as an entrepreneur you are responsible for the success or failure of your own business.

But, you are also gaining freedom, flexibility and the opportunity to play by your own rules.

Thousands of people start their own business every year. Most are not successful, but many of them are. What can we learn from those who successfully made the leap from employee to entrepreneur?

1. Belief

Confidence is the driving factor that gets many new and inexperienced entrepreneurs through the learning curve of being their own boss. Simply believing that they can become successful on their own fuels their actions and guides their decisions.

To make money as an online entrepreneur, you have to be in it to succeed from the very beginning. There can be no doubt, no second-guessing. You have to have every intention of winning.

2. Viable Ideas

If you plan to make the jump from employee to online entrepreneur it is smart to have a plan and even smarter to have a plan that’s based on a viable idea. Do your research to ensure there is a market for what you want to pursue.

Having a viable business idea can be the difference in earning an online income quickly, or not at all. Having an idea that works makes it easier to tap into a ready made audience that can support your business plan.

3. Making a Slow Transition

There are many people who choose to make the leap from employee to online entrepreneur more gradually. Instead of jumping all in, they begin working from home part-time and gaining the experience and income they need to stay afloat until they can replace their paycheck at their current job.

While this can be stressful, and for some unrealistic; having the ability to fall back on a steady paycheck as you grow your business is the only option for many people.

However, if you are serious about getting rid of your 9-5, you make the sacrifice, and once your business begins to replace what you are making at your job, you can comfortably leave your job and become your own full time boss.

No matter how you choose to make the jump from employee to online entrepreneur, it begins with a decision and a plan. Be smart, take action, and have the confidence to go after the success you desire. Most people become entrepreneurs because they want to have more control over their lifestyle. They want more flexibility, more time, and more financial freedom. Whatever your reason is, the bottom line is that you will simply have to go for it!

3 Steps To Your Best Life

3 Steps

We are all striving for a better life in whatever way we know how, but there are 3 critical steps in attaining your best life that don’t take rocket science.

As I reflect on the memory of 9/11, I become overwhelmed with gratitude and a renewed vigor for life. Sometimes we concentrate on all of things that are not perfect in life that we lose focus on all of the good things that are present in our life. It is in this state of reflection that can be the jump off point for us to take real action steps toward the life that has been calling all of us.

No matter where you are currently, most of us would say that there is room for improvement either financially, physically or spiritually. The following 3 steps will provide a system of attainment that will assist you in uncovering your best life:

3 Steps To Your Best Life:

  1. Identify and Define:Start a journal or utilize a journaling app and focus on these 5 areas of your life:
  • Finances/Money
  • Business/Career
  • Friends/Family
  • Mindset/Health
  • Giving Back To The World                                                                                                                                                                      ***Feel free to add other areas as you see fit.***

COMPLETE FOR EACH AREA:

In the first section: Write down a vision of what you want in that particular area (ex. Mindset/Health: Identify = I want to be physically fit. Define = 100 sit ups per day)

In the second section: Write down signs of your life right now in the present that prove to you that your goal is going to come to you easily. (Ex: I was born into a healthy body, and I am capable of exercising. I can currently do 10 sit ups) – Feel free to come back and add to this list until you reach your goal of 100 sit ups.

This is in alignment with the concept of acknowledging where you are and making a connection with your vision of the future.

  1. Gratitude
  • Think about and write down 5 things in your personal life that you are grateful for in last 24 hours.
  • Think about and write down 5 things in your business/professional life that you are grateful for in the last 24 hours.
  1. Recognize the Negative Stories That You Tell Yourself and Get Rid of Them!

(ex. “You have to suffer for success”, “Money is evil”, “You have to have money in order to make money”, etc.)

We all have “stories” that we tell ourselves that subconsciously rule our decisions. That explains why we fail to do what we know intellectually is good for us. We often live our lives in a pattern, but most of us don’t recognize the pattern. The moment you begin to notice your pattern is the moment of clarity that brings forth further awakening and your evolution.
