- Develop A Mission Statement: This is a detailed action statement as to how you are going to achieve your goals
- Train Your Mind: Buy books, watch videos, listen to audio, and attend seminars that will help you guide your mind towards your goals.

“Who are you?” When asked this question, most people respond by stating what it is that they do or what type of role or position that they have. i.e: father, daughter, teacher, etc. I was recently challenged to answer this question void a particular role, status, and or position. Needless to say, it was very difficult to do because in life we tend to assign who we are with what we do. It is when we are stripped of our titles, roles, and positions that we discover who we truly are.
Here are some questions that will allow you to dig deep into your true self:
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
What are your beliefs and values?
Are your actions in line with your beliefs?
If the answer is no, you are not being your true self.
Once we clearly define who we are, we must align it with our beliefs. This is what builds character. Once our character is established we must use our actions to communicate our character to others. This is not an easy task at all…trust me! But once we have mastered our character the journey into discovering our purpose begins. This blog is a journey to discovering one’s true self. Once you are aware of your true self, that is when you can tap into your greatest potential and begin living the life you are destined to live.
Every day you are given the chance to experience life anew. All too often people allow the headaches, nightmares, and heartaches of the past control their present, which by default alters their future. Your past is a memory, a mere thought. We tend to let these mere thoughts dictate our actions in the present. How absurd! I am here to encourage you and to let you know that who you were does not exist TODAY. If you woke up this morning and said, “Today I am going to be the best me that I can be”, and you focus all of your energy into that mission…guess what?! That is what you will become! Isn’t that awesome?!
So I challenge you (and myself) to start every day with a mission to be better! Focus on the excitement in knowing that today you can decide to be whatever it is that you want because yesterday doesn’t matter. Let’s direct all of our energy and our thoughts into making today the best day ever! This is the start to laying the foundation of an amazing future!
