You Matter…A Lot!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”  Marianne Williamson

The Gift of You

The Gift of YouIf you are completely new to learning how to improve upon yourself, so that you can begin living your life with a more positive attitude, then you want to continue reading. Listed below are some tips to get you started with making more positives changes to your life.

A great tip for personal development is to always make sure you stand up for your beliefs. If you do not have the guts to stand up for what you believe in, then you will be seen as a weak fool. Do careful research to ensure that your claims are the truth, and the truth can not be denied.

Replace negative thoughts with ones that are more positive or balanced. Keep a journal of negative thoughts and what triggers them. When you are in a better mood, go over your journal and see if the negative thoughts you had were necessary and how you can change the way you viewed them at the time.

To keep yourself motivated have a friendly competition with a friend or colleague.
This applies to everything from weight loss to quarterly goals. Most people simply work harder when in competition with others. The other person can also help you stay on track and avoid lazy days. For extra motivation compete for a prize.

Life Is A Gift

Try visualizing your way to success. One of the quickest ways to reach your goals is by closing your eyes and imagining that you already have. Visualizing your future success in vivid detail can help you to start feeling more successful right now. As a result, your behaviors and actions will change, reflecting a new found confidence in your abilities. This confidence, coupled with a clear vision of what you want to achieve, will help you reach your goals with ease.

Some level of contentment is crucial to mental health and self-improvement. While self-help tactics and tips focus on constant striving, there is a bigger picture to consider. You will never achieve holistic health and mental happiness without allowing yourself a bit of enjoyment. Learn to be content with things you cannot change (your family, last year’s earnings, etc.). Once you are satisfied with the permanent things in your life, you are ready to change the things you can control.

Put a stop to those unwanted imaginary opinions that you think people have about you. Many of the terrible things you think people are thinking about you are not really occurring. If you can put a stop to what is basically self-criticizing, you are sure to gain the confidence you want.

Learning a new skill is a great way to stretch yourself and improve the quality of your character. What’s more, perfecting a hobby, technical skill or artistic form may be challenging at first, but if you master it, you will gain a sense of accomplishment, purpose and enjoyment. What’s more, you add to your pool of leisure activities and make yourself a more rounded human being.

As you can now see, living a longer, higher-quality and healthier life with many accomplishments is possible through self-help. Use one, or use them all to find that sense of peace that has long evaded you on the path to personal development.

Stop Being a Wantrepreneur

Stop Being A Wantreprenenur

Stop Being A Wantreprenenur

I posted this quote in a few groups on Facebook yesterday, and I got an overwhelming response.

“The important thing is not being afraid to take a chance.
Remember, the greatest failure is to not try. Once you
find something you love to do, be the best at doing it.” -Debbi Fields

Having only been a true entrepreneur for about 6 days, my breakthrough came when I realized that I never really attached myself to my passion. Now you maybe laughing at me and saying, “6 days as an entrepreneur?”

Let me explain…

I have been CLAIMING to be an entrepreneur for almost 3 years now, when really all that I was was a WANTREPRENEUR. Now you may be asking yourself, “what’s the heck is a “wantrepreneur”? That is someone who wants to be an entrepreneur but really hasn’t taken the mandatory steps and the massive action that it necessary to become a person that is truly 100% about their business. I was so busy being busy and preparing to get ready to setup to get ready to almost be ready to think about getting ready to start.

Does this sound familiar? If you are a true entrepreneur, probably not. But if you are anything like I was you can relate completely.I was missing some key steps that I want to share with you, so that if you are in “Wantrepreneur Mode”, you can get out of it…quick, fast, and in a hurry!

Stop Being a Wantrepreneur…

  • Identify: You must identify your goals. We are approaching the new year, and you must have your 2013 goals written down somewhere or uploaded onto an app on your smartphone or tablet. As a matter of fact there are 13 days left in 2012, and there are probably some goals from this year that you still have time to complete. Try not to go into 2013 with an overflow of things that you didn’t do in 2012. Let’s Get ‘Er Done!
  • Obsession: Your passion/business must become your obsession at least for the next 90 days. Meaning you wake up early and go to sleep late because you are obsessed with success. Will it always have to be like this? Heck no! But if you stay committed and focused you will find that after 90 days of grinding, you will be in position to reap tremendous benefits! You can actually apply this to almost anything: saving money, losing weight, becoming more spiritual, etc.
  • Plan: You have to have a business plan. Point. Blank. Period. You can not be an entrepreneur with out having a plan for your business. Even if you are apart of a bigger company, you are still the CEO of you! You need to have a map that is going to outline in detail what it’s going to take for you to get from where you currently are to where you want are going to be.
  • Re-ignite: Every time you want to drive your car, you have to get in and start the car. If you stop somewhere and get out, in order to drive off again, you have to start the car again, right? Absolutely! You have to apply this to yourself and your business as well. Your day may start off like this: You are excited, you listened to something motivational, you start being productive and then BAM! Something happens, that makes you stop. But what normally occurs is that we stay at a stand still, not realizing that we have to IMMEDIATELY do whatever it took for us to be motivated earlier in the day, so that we can continue our journey. This may happen 2, 3, 12 times a day and it is important that we RE-IGNITE ourselves each and every time that this happens. I am so passionate about this point because this is the area that I had to truly focus on in order to create massive success in every facet of my life: Mind, body, and spirit.

I have had a lot of time in the past couple of months to put life into perspective. I have experienced highs, lows, tragedies and triumphs, and it is my goal to inspire and uplift you through my journey. I hope this post gives you some insight and encouragement.

Let’s Win Together!

The Balancing Act

Have you ever heard people say, “You are doing too much”? I hear it all of the time. I am a victim of knowing how to do many things fairly well. Basically, I was the “Jane of All Trades, Master of Nothing”. If you are like I was, you get plagued with paralysis, meaning you want to do so many things you do NOTHING. I began thinking to myself, “Am I doing too much?” Through detailed reflection, I discovered that I needed to OMIT all of the things that were not bringing value to my life. This could mean monetary, spiritual, and/or healthy living contributions. This was difficult for me to do , but I realized that I spent too much time meeting about things that were never going to happen. I began to value OTHER people’s visions and dreams more than I did my own. Because of this, my goals and aspirations were being pushed off of MY To Do List. If you were like me I am going to give you one piece of advice and STOP!!! Oprah is one of my mentors from afar and she has her hands in EVERYTHING! How does she do it?

“Success comes when you surrender to that dream—and let it lead you to the next best place.”

When you surrender to your dreams, balance is key….

Everyone wants to be a mogul, but people forget that all moguls started at the bottom. They decided that they wanted to do something and then they mastered it. Once the first venture is mastered and put on autopilot, they decide to challenge themselves and master something else. Rinse and Repeat.

Here is my strategy for wanting to do it all:

  1. Breathe-relax. Take your time and assess everything that you are doing.
  2. Meditate-Some people call it prayer, others call it “quieting the mind”. Whatever you call it do it, for at least 15 minutes when you wake up and 15 minutes before you go to bed. You need to remind yourself of your purpose and of your greatness. You have to think positively about everything that you do and meditation is the best way to do this.
  3. Pick ONE thing-Focus on it, be passionate about it, and MASTER IT!!! Forget everything else. You cannot be great at multiple things at once unless they are mastered. This requires discipline because by nature we want to try the “next best thing”, but we shouldn’t do that until we know that without a doubt we gave the first venture our best. You’ll neve know how great you are if you keep starting something then moving to something else.
  4. Stick to a Theme: If you are interested in sports, have a blog and want to expand, look into having a sports internet radio station, incorporate sports videos into your blog, come out with a sports apparel line, and/or develop a sports drink. Notice, all of the aforementioned ventures are escalating in magnitude BUT the follow the same theme. It is confusing to people if one day you are talking about sports then the next day you are talking about self development., UNLESS you can strategically tie them into one another.

I have failed a lot in these areas, so I know a lot about what not to do. Once you have your balancing act in place you will see nothing but success. It took tons of discipline and self evaluation to follow these strategies but my life took a complete turn for the better once I did.

Do you think you can do it all?? If so share below!!!!

The Importance of a Plan

“When you establish a destination by defining what you want, then take physical action by making choices that move you towards that destination, the possibility for success is limitless and arrival at the destination is inevitable.”    ~Steve Mariboli~

Throughout my life I failed to have a clear, concise plan to achieve my goal. I start out with a vision and then I lose focus and pretty soon I am off doing something that has nothing to do with my initial vision. What a rat race! Am I the only one that has experienced this? Then before you know it weeks turn into months and months turn into years and we look back at our life and say, “What did I accomplish?”. The above quote is so profound. It is so important to promote our goals and wishes into accomplished missions.

Just think about the infamous “To Do List”, isn’t it great when we make one for the day and we get to cross of tasks as we complete them? So imagine if we wrote your goals and dreams down the same way we do for a to do list, and month by  month and year by year we get to cross the off as complete. There would be more dream cars in the driveways of dream houses that we share with our dream partners. It may sound lofty but, is it really?

It starts with a plan…

We must take that list and devise a clear and concise plan or strategy that will allow us to achieve all that we set out to do. This takes discipline but it’s worth it. 95% of the work is the strategy, implementing is the easy part. You know how we get anxiety when we have to drive a far distance that we’ve never been to before? But if we are provided with clear, precise, and accurate direction, the trip is less threatening and we are more confident that we will get there with out getting lost. Life is the same way!

Let’s start today! Plan your day, week, and month. 2013 is going to be great as a result!

The Unseen Growth

The Unseen Growth

Last night I was on a transformational conference call. I was reluctant to get on the call because for the past 45 days I have just felt defeated. I have been trying to stuff myself into a box that appeals to everyone. In addition to that I have been dealing with loss of the upteenth magnitude. I’ve been working hard but I am hardly seeing any results. Giving up or quitting and succumbing to being average was so tempting! I have all of this going on in my head as I am slowly dialing in the numbers to get on this conference call that I DON’T WANT TO GET ON! Even as I am dialing, I have my laptop open and I am on Facebook doing 101 distracting things. I even got on 8 minutes late. As I am listening to the guest speaker share his story about perseverance, he begins talking about a bamboo tree. I am thinking, “Here we go! Another metaphor that I can neither relate to or appreciate. Great!”. But eventually I begin to listen to the story. All of a sudden, I start tearing up. Here is the story that the speaker shared:

The Story of the Bamboo Tree…

Got this email from a friend of mine:
Don’t give up….

One day I decided to quit…
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality… I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.
“God”, I asked, “Can you give me one good reason not to quit?”

His answer surprised me…
“Look around”, He said. “Do you see the fern and the bamboo?”
“Yes”, I replied.
“When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.
I gave them light.
I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth.
Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.
“In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
But I would not quit.
In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would
not quit.” He said.
“Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared
to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant…But just 6
months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.”
He asked me. “Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots”.
“I would not quit on the bamboo.
I will never quit on you.”
“Don’t compare yourself to others.”
He said.
“The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern.
Yet they both make the forest beautiful.”
“Your time will come”, God said to me.
“You will rise high”
“How high should I rise?”
I asked.
“How high will the bamboo rise?” He asked in return.
“As high as it can?” I questioned.
“Yes.” He said, “Give me glory by rising as high as you can.”

Unseen Growth!

I am not quite sure what chord that the story of the bamboo tree struck with you, but the one it struck with me was loud and clear. It was a chord of hope and motivation. Often times, we feel that we are alone when we are going through tough times. Through this story we realize that struggle and growth are things that are necessary to promote EXPONENTIAL GROWTH! People may not see it, but through are hard work a system of strong roots are anchoring us so that when we do grow we stay grounded. I hope this story was as inspiring for you as it was for me.

Making the Jump from Employee to Online Entrepreneur

Once you’ve made the decision to become your own boss, taking the next step from employee to online entrepreneur can be pretty intimidating.

As an employee you had a predictable, stable work schedule. You knew what to expect and had the support of other employees to accomplish daily tasks, but as an entrepreneur you are responsible for the success or failure of your own business.

But, you are also gaining freedom, flexibility and the opportunity to play by your own rules.

Thousands of people start their own business every year. Most are not successful, but many of them are. What can we learn from those who successfully made the leap from employee to entrepreneur?

1. Belief

Confidence is the driving factor that gets many new and inexperienced entrepreneurs through the learning curve of being their own boss. Simply believing that they can become successful on their own fuels their actions and guides their decisions.

To make money as an online entrepreneur, you have to be in it to succeed from the very beginning. There can be no doubt, no second-guessing. You have to have every intention of winning.

2. Viable Ideas

If you plan to make the jump from employee to online entrepreneur it is smart to have a plan and even smarter to have a plan that’s based on a viable idea. Do your research to ensure there is a market for what you want to pursue.

Having a viable business idea can be the difference in earning an online income quickly, or not at all. Having an idea that works makes it easier to tap into a ready made audience that can support your business plan.

3. Making a Slow Transition

There are many people who choose to make the leap from employee to online entrepreneur more gradually. Instead of jumping all in, they begin working from home part-time and gaining the experience and income they need to stay afloat until they can replace their paycheck at their current job.

While this can be stressful, and for some unrealistic; having the ability to fall back on a steady paycheck as you grow your business is the only option for many people.

However, if you are serious about getting rid of your 9-5, you make the sacrifice, and once your business begins to replace what you are making at your job, you can comfortably leave your job and become your own full time boss.

No matter how you choose to make the jump from employee to online entrepreneur, it begins with a decision and a plan. Be smart, take action, and have the confidence to go after the success you desire. Most people become entrepreneurs because they want to have more control over their lifestyle. They want more flexibility, more time, and more financial freedom. Whatever your reason is, the bottom line is that you will simply have to go for it!

3 Steps To Your Best Life

3 Steps

We are all striving for a better life in whatever way we know how, but there are 3 critical steps in attaining your best life that don’t take rocket science.

As I reflect on the memory of 9/11, I become overwhelmed with gratitude and a renewed vigor for life. Sometimes we concentrate on all of things that are not perfect in life that we lose focus on all of the good things that are present in our life. It is in this state of reflection that can be the jump off point for us to take real action steps toward the life that has been calling all of us.

No matter where you are currently, most of us would say that there is room for improvement either financially, physically or spiritually. The following 3 steps will provide a system of attainment that will assist you in uncovering your best life:

3 Steps To Your Best Life:

  1. Identify and Define:Start a journal or utilize a journaling app and focus on these 5 areas of your life:
  • Finances/Money
  • Business/Career
  • Friends/Family
  • Mindset/Health
  • Giving Back To The World                                                                                                                                                                      ***Feel free to add other areas as you see fit.***

COMPLETE FOR EACH AREA:

In the first section: Write down a vision of what you want in that particular area (ex. Mindset/Health: Identify = I want to be physically fit. Define = 100 sit ups per day)

In the second section: Write down signs of your life right now in the present that prove to you that your goal is going to come to you easily. (Ex: I was born into a healthy body, and I am capable of exercising. I can currently do 10 sit ups) – Feel free to come back and add to this list until you reach your goal of 100 sit ups.

This is in alignment with the concept of acknowledging where you are and making a connection with your vision of the future.

  1. Gratitude
  • Think about and write down 5 things in your personal life that you are grateful for in last 24 hours.
  • Think about and write down 5 things in your business/professional life that you are grateful for in the last 24 hours.
  1. Recognize the Negative Stories That You Tell Yourself and Get Rid of Them!

(ex. “You have to suffer for success”, “Money is evil”, “You have to have money in order to make money”, etc.)

We all have “stories” that we tell ourselves that subconsciously rule our decisions. That explains why we fail to do what we know intellectually is good for us. We often live our lives in a pattern, but most of us don’t recognize the pattern. The moment you begin to notice your pattern is the moment of clarity that brings forth further awakening and your evolution.

What Does It Mean To THRIVE?

to grow vigorously
to gain in wealth or possessions, prosper
to progress toward or realize a goal despite or because of circumstances

I read somewhere that September is the month of the harvest. Sounds exciting huh? The truth of the matter is if you have been sowing seeds of business, information, spirituality, kindness, etc., then this is your month! I like to think that I have been in the sowing stage for quite sometime. It is a difficult stage to endure. Many of you are probably just like me: you have invested money into your business, time into your relationship and effort into being a better person. Then what happens? You wait for sprouts of hope to manifest themselves and produce an abundance of change. This whole process is pretty profound but what’s next is even more amazing!

Get Ready To THRIVE

Because you were in a state of cultivating there are many things that go on behind the scenes that most are not aware of. Those around us may not see the efforts of our toil. Sometimes even we may not be aware of what is truly going on and how much impact we are on the verge of making.

When you thrive, you will experience an abundance of success in all facets of your life. It is important to stay grounded and focused during this time period. You want your “harvest” to be a calculated effort and you want to make sure you do not waste any of what you have reaped.

Today’s Mission:
Identify what it is that you need in order to THRIVE. Document it in your journal. Later we will explore how to achieve those necessary components.
